Sonia Quintana dela Cruz


Biography

Sonia Quintana-dela Cruz was born in January 13, 1941, in the Philippines at the historical town of Dulag, Leyte, near Hill 120 where the first American flag was raised. She is the second to the eldest of seven children of Domingo Quintana and Basilia Go, survived poverty and all trials in her life with God's unending grace, she was able to fulfill her passionate dream to ensure that all her children become professionals, successful and happily married. She is the co-founder of three successful worker's cooperative – dulag Multi-Purpose Cooperative, San Mateo Farmers and the Integrated Producers of Sapang Palay Multi-Purpose Cooperative. She is also a recipient of various awards from government and private sectors organizations honoring her dedication and faithful service in promoting the socio-economic welfare of poor families especially in the resettlement areas. She migrated to the United States in 1994, and joined the Couple for Christ Ministry in New Jersey in 1995, where she and her husband served the Lord for the past 12 years and registered the “Loving Neighbors Foundation, Inc.” in 1998. She also helped register Helping Hand Foundation of Caloocan High School Class '59, through which she currently sponsors scholarships.
