ABOUT Exaltacion Ellevera-Lamberte

Exaltacion Ellevera-Lamberte is DLSU University Fellow and Professor of Sociology. She is the former Dean of the College of Liberal Arts. She completed her doctoral degree in Sociology from the University of the Philippines, Diliman, Quezon City and took her Post-doctoral fellowship study on Public Policy at Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA. She specializes in social theory, poverty and developmet, social development and policy, health system's development, children an youth studies. She was the founding editor of the Asia Pacific Social Science Review, a SCOPUS listed social science regional journal published by the DLSU Academic Publishing Office. Ms. Lamberte had engaged with international and national organizations, among them the WHO-Western Pacific Region for the project on health systems development and local health system performance assessment; East Asian Development Network for study on poverty and social protection; Global Health Research Forum for global study on mental health research capacity in the Western Pacific Region; UNICEF-Manila and Department of Social Welfare and Development for researches on street children in Metro Manila and assessmeht of Family and Child Welfare System in the Philippines; USAID-Manila on market segmentation and for operations research on quality care in local health systems; Department of Health for quality care in health facilities and indicators development for assessing in hospitals; Child Welfare Council for developing monitoring framework for children's well-being. Ms. Lamberte is currently a member of the East Asian Development Network (EADN) Advisory Board. A member of the GOP-UNDP Outcome Board, she represented the academic sector for the Program Portfolio on Human Poverty and Millenium Development Goals from April 2007-March 2009. She had been a Member of the Inter-agency Steering Committee for Monitoring Children initiatives in the Philippines of Philippine Council of Welfare for Children (CWC). Representing the private academic institution, was appointed by the President of the Philippines as Member of the National Governing Council of the Philippine Council for Health Research and Development of the Department of Science and Technology, Philippines from January 2003-May 2005. She is currently the President of the Pi Gamma Mu-Beta Chapter, an International Honor Society in Social Science.
