    This Dictionary is the first of it`s kind and only book written of the lingua franca "Ibanak" of the province of Cagayan in the northeastern part of Luzon, Philippines. IBANAK, (also know as Ibanag spoken by the Ibanags of Tuguegarao City) is considered the standard language in the province. It has been discontinued being taught in local schools and is a fast disappearing major language of the region of Cagayan Valley which include Gaddang, Yogad, Agta, Atta, Isneg, Itawit and Malaweg. The book is about 150 pages and contains words in current usage, everyday common words, usefull expressions; also
    proverbs, songs. riddles and folklores in old Ibanak and the Cagayan Provincial Anthem in Ibanak composed by the Honorable Nicanor Carag, the pre-war Provincial Governor with the English translations of John M. Butler, former Superintendent of Schools of Cagayan.
    The writer was born inTuguegarao City and spoke all his life the Ibanak language.
