    Description:

Private International Law, Also known as "Conflict of Laws," has heretofore not been given the requisite attention by Philippine authors. This situation, I am afraid, is also compounded by the fact that existing laws in this area have not been able to keep pace with the growth and development of transnational juridical relations. It is encouraging to learn that aside from on-going projects of the U.P. Law Center to look into proposed legislation that could supplement the few notable provisions in the Civil code including Conflict of Laws, colleagues in academia have pursued their own interest in studying the laws and jurisprudence on this subject.
