ABOUT Jim V. Lopez

Jim V. Lopez is a three-time winner of the National Book Award. He is listed in the 7th edition of Who’s Who in American Law. He is a graduate of the University of the Philippines College of Law. He was named as one of the Ten Outstanding Students during his freshman year in college. He served as Managing Editor of the Philippine Collegian and Team Captain of the Philippine Team to the Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition in Washington, D.C. He took up post-graduate studies at Harvard Law School, the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, and the University of Southern California. His other books are: The Law on Dissolution of Marriage, The Law on Property Defense, The Study of Law, The Law and Family Business, The Power of Legal Writing: How Not to Write Like a Lawyer, The Fundamentals of Law School, and Legal Negotiation: How to Win Without Fighting. He is the holder of the Senator Ambrosio Padilla Chair in Commercial Law. He is a professor of law, MCLE lecturer, and a bar reviewer. He teaches International Negotiation, Cross-Cultural Communication, International Organizations, Civil Law, and Commercial Law in various schools.
