Atty. Fe Becina-Macalino has been a lawyer specializing in banking and finance for over four decades. She received her Bachelor of Political Science and Bachelor of Law degrees from UP Diliman. Her career has been marked by serving the interests of stakeholders in the banking industry–investors, employees, and the general public–as the in-house multiple financial general counsel of several privately-owned banks as well as institutions that focus on financing and investment, the most recent of which was UnionBank, until she retired in 2015 as the Corporate Secretary of the Union Bank Group, General Counsel, and Senior Vice President. She was also the President of the Philippine Chapter of the Bank Administration Institute (BAIPhil). She is still active in the banking industry as UnionBank’s Senior Legal Consultant while also teaching banking laws at the University of Santo Tomas Faculty of Civil Law, the University of Asia and the Pacific School of Law and Governance, and the University of the East College of Law. She has currently published her first book, Philippine Negotiable Instruments Law.
