A FILIPINO POET, SPOKEN WORD ARTIST AND EMCEE FROM THE PHILIPPINES

Rei Nikolai is a former psychiatric nurse, currently working as a management professional and an academic professorial lecturer. He makes time for the arts and performing to share his love for poetry and music. As an artist for music, dance, and poetry, he has performed all over the country including UST’s Paskuhan (2010), MOA Concert Grounds, Music Museum, Tanghalang Pasigueno, TV and radio programs, Jess & Pat’s Maginhawa, Commune, Plaza Roma Intramuros, Baybayin Art Cafe, Likha MNL, and more.

He takes inspiration to write from short-term and life-long interpersonal relationships with people he has met or been with from all walks of life. He released his first published book, Introspect: Live, Love & Dream (2018) with CentralBooks. As a recording artist, he also has singles and albums for poetry, spoken word and rap – Introspect: Live Free, Love Well & Dream Forward (2020), Polyamorie: Memories of Time (2020), and Owlism: Eyes Wide Shut, Lies Wide Open (2022), available on Spotify, YouTube, Apple Music, SoundCloud, Bandcamp and other digital streaming platforms.
