Atty. Hipolito Salatan is a partner at Demetria Lawyers and Associates and Executive Director of the People’s Legal Assistance Centre (PLAC) which offers free legal aid to litigants who cannot afford to hire private counsels. He was formerly designated as OIC-Community Environment and Natural Resources Officer (CENRO) of the Department of the Environment and Natural Resources concurrent to his position as Assistant-Chief of the Legal Division in the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) Central Office.

After passing the Philippine Bar Exam in 2005, he completed the Philippine Judicial Academy’s Pre-Judicature Program a few years later. His experience with claims and conflicts cases can be attributed to his prior employment with the DENR as well as the many years he spent handling land cases in private practice. These experiences gave him a thorough understanding of procedural remedies and techniques for handling the investigation and resolution of land claims, conflicts, and reversion cases. He has one publication so far, Guidebook in the Investigation & Resolution of Land Claims & Conflicts & Reversion Cases (2021).
