Avelino M. Sebastian finished his pre-law in Economics at University of Santo Tomas (magna cum laude, 1974) and his LL. B at Ateneo de Manila University (Second Honors and Salutatorian, 1978), then eventually admitted to the bar in 1979. While in Ateneo, he was the Editor-in-Chief for the Ateneo Law Journal, (1977-1978).

He’s a partner at Sebastian Liganor Galinato & Alamis and a law professor at La Salle since 2011. He was also listed as a reputable lawyer by Martindale-Hubbell. He is a member of Integrated Bar of the Philippines, Philippine Bar Association, and University of Santo Tomas Honors Graduate Society.

He has currently written Civil Law is a Journey: The Guide (2022), Wills and Succession (2021 Edition), and The Negotiable Instruments Law, Notes and Cases.
