Judge May Hazel M. Tagupa, Presiding Judge of the Municipal Circuit Trial Court of Silang-Amadeo, Cavite, received her BA in Philosophy from the University of the Philippines. She then earned her L.L.B. at San Beda College of Law, followed by her master’s degree (with honors), and her doctorate, Doctor of Juridical Science, at the same institution.

She is a Visiting Foreign Judicial Fellow, at the Federal Judicial Center, Washington District of Columbia, United States of America. And in addition to his judicial duties, Judge Tagupa serves as a Major in the Philippine Air Force (Reserve). She is the author of several works dealing with issues related to violence against women and children.
