Justice Dante O. Tiñga

Justice Dante O. Tiñga served as an associate Justice in the Supreme Court of the Philippines from 2003 to 2009. Prior to his appointment, he served as a congressman for three terms in the City of Taguig from 1987 to 1998. He also engaged in private practice as a Managing Partner of Tiñga and Corvera law firm. He was also the first Dean of PUP College of Law, and the former Dean of the University of the East, College of Law from 1988 to 1992, and again in 2017–2018.

Justice Tiñga graduated from the University of the East College of Law in 1960 (Magna cum Laude) and passed the 1960 Bar Exams with an 87% score. In 1970, he earned a Master of Laws from the University of California. He’s received several distinctions, such as the Most Distinguished Alumnus in Education (1991) and the Most Distinguished Alumnus in the Legal Profession (1988), both given by the University of the East.
