JOSEPH JENNEL M. MALELANG is a social work practitioner, educationist, seminar lecturer, counselor, and researcher. He is a former Court Social Worker and presently a Court Legal Researcher at Branch 15 – Family Court, Regional Trial Court, Lucena City.
In 2004, he received his B.S. degree in Social Work at Sacred Heart College. He started teaching as part-time instructor in the same school in 2006, which led him to take his Masters degree in Social Work at the Philippine Women’s University.
He also obtained the degree of Bachelor of Laws in 2015 from Enverga Law School. In the same year, he finished two (2) 6-week courses on Legal Instruments and Institutional Mechanisms Towards Child Protection at the University of the Philippines Open University.
He is currently a part-time professor at the Graduate School of Social Work at the Philippine Christian University. He is also a visiting lecturer, reviewer, and field supervisor at Occidental Mindoro State College, San Jose Occidental Mindoro (Top 5 Performing School in Licensure Examination for Social Work in 2018) and Dalubhasaan ng Lungsod ng Lucena. He is teaching the following subjects: Social Work Research and Statistics; Social Work and the Law; Social Welfare Policies, Programs, and Services; Working with Individuals and Families; and Fields of Social Work.
He also had several opportunities to lecture in courses and seminars on related subjects such as child protection, adoption, case management, domestic violence, and research among others. Moreover, he is one of the reviewers who is conducting comprehensive and executive review classes in preparation for the Licensure Examination for Social Workers at Occidental Mindoro State College, Philippine Christian University, and Prudence Research and Review Center. He is the primary author of the book entitled Compendium of Multiple-Choice Questions for Social Work Board Exams.
