The author’s interest on condominium started during his stint as Director for Legal Services Group (LSG), of then Housing and Land Use Regulatory Board (HLURB, now reconstituted as Human Settlements Adjudication Commission or HSAC) when confronted by issues involving condominium projects under the regulatory and adjudicatory powers of HLURB, currently within the mandate of Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) on regulatory aspects, among others, and HSAC solely on adjudication of cases, pursuant to Republic Act (RA) No. 11201.

Since the publication in 2016 of the book “Q & A on Housing and Land Use for Subdivision & Condominium Buyers and Real Estate Practitioners,” there have been persistent clamors from various stakeholders, such as subdivision residents and community leaders, for the author to write another book, this time on the subject of homeownership and homeowners’ association, the latter term being more popularly known and referred to as the “HOA”.

This book entitled “Q & A ON HOUSING AND LAND USE FOR SUBDIVISION & CONDOMINIUM BUYERS AND REAL ESTATE PRACTITIONERS” by Atty. Alvin T. Claridades is one piece of work worth commending and recommending if only for its attempt to “laymanize” and simplify the provisions of the various laws and regulations pertaining to housing and land use to the end that they are easily understood by its end-users.

At the time of the writing of this book, the real estate industry in the Philippines may be observed to be in its growth or developing stage.

This book is prepared for aspiring B.S. Real Estate Management students and unlicensed real estate service practitioners who are interested in taking the Board Licensure Examination for Real Estate Appraisers (BLREA) and Board Licensure Examination for Real Estate Brokers (BLREB).
