Description
The May 9, 2022 elections will see the exercise by the people of their sovereign rights and a display that all government authority emandates from them. Of course, each individual voter could not participate in the art of governance that is why elections provide the opportunity to choose their representatives who shall run the affairs of the state. Having been chosen as the representatives of the people those elected would still have to be provided the wherewithal by the electorate in order for them to perform the functions for which they have been elected. This is usually done through the enactment of legislation that would collect taxes to be spent for general and specific purposes.
