Description
The coverage of banking laws in the bar examinations during the last thirty (30) years have been few and far in between. Revisiting the pre-pandemic syllabus on banking laws, the topics were broad and extensive for the reviewees to study and absorb all pertinent laws and provisions on banking. The substantial shift in the conduct of the bar examination after the pandemic has been a relief for the bar examinees as it narrowed down the identified topics that will be covered.
The Primer covers the following laws: New Central Bank Act (R.A. 7653); General Banking Law (R.A. 8791); Secrecy of Bank Deposits (R.A. 1405), Foreign Currency Deposit Act (R.A. 6426), Truth in Lending Act (R.A. 3765), Unclaimed Balances Law (R.A. 3939), Usury Law (Act 2655) and the PDIC Charter (R.A. 3591).
