Vanessa’s love of reading books encouraged me to write about my collective experience as an expatriate worker in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to leave her a historical legacy. I hope she will gain valuable insight into the multi-faceted angles of life narrated herein to inspire her. I also wanted to preserve and share the beautiful memories of people, places, and events I encountered before they gradually fade from my aging mind. May the stories written in this book delight its readers as they walk through the pages in the mecca of workers. As for me, after the earning and learning journey of six years spent in the Kingdom, I developed a better understanding of humanity and our destiny by the will of one almighty and merciful God. May this book be a fitting, humble tribute.
