This edition was launched to address the clamor of some users of the recently published book by the lead author, The Pamplona Ibanag-English Dictionary (2022), more specifically the non-Ibanag speakers who are very interested to learn and speak the Ibanag language with proficiency. These users strongly suggested to add a portion of the book where English is the basic reference in order to enhance their learning of this wonderful language. Thus, we are addressing this clamor by incorporating this portion to make them become fluent in writing and reading any Ibanag literature. Like the 2022 maiden edition, the primary aim of the writers is to sustain the use of Ibanag and Ilocano dialects in every sphere of daily activities specially among the young, the new generation, and to see to it that the mother tongues will never vanish in the northern Philippines.

The Ibanag langage is just one among hundreds of indigenous languages and dialects in the Philippines. It is spoken by about half-a-million people, most particularly in the provinces of Cagayan and Isabela, especially in the towns of Tuguegarao, Solana, Abulug, Aparri, Pamplona, Lallo, Cabagan, and Ilagan. And even in these places, the Ibanag language takes on different forms, written and oral.
