Description

The Constitution, aside from being the supreme law, is continuously animated with the times. Although the fundamental powers of the State and the Bill of Rights have remained constant, the interpretations of the laws pertaining to the rights of persons face constant positive change and dynamism. That being said, it is a challenge to write this book in order to understand the fundamental principles of the powers of the State, and its checks and balances through the Bill of Rights, in order to understand the value of respecting, protecting, and fulfilling the political and civil rights of the Filipino people.

In embarking this writing sojourn, the world undertook a lot of changes from the time I was still a law student, that with the advent of the Internet, and as of this writing, the COVID-19 pandemic. That being said, the dynamism and balance between the State and the Biil of Rights remain alive and subject to the constant struggle of interpretation of the laws and the Constitution.
