Labor Law and Social Legislation: A Simplified Q&A Reviewer and Guide for Bar Examinees, Students, and Practitioners
Driven by my passion to support law students, bar examination candidates, and labor law practitioners, I created this simplified labor law and social legislation reviewer and guide. This book adopts a dual approach, combining bar syllabus-based topics (highlighting key decisions of the bar chairpersons for the 2025 and 2026 bar examinations) with practice-oriented subjects. This approach aims to equip readers for success in their academic and professional pursuits. To familiarize bar examinees with potential questions, I have included selected bar examination questions from 2004 to 2024, along with my suggested answers. Additionally, this book incorporates the latest laws and cases to ensure readers stay up-to-date.

Wills and Succession
This book on Wills and Succession is being presented by the author in the format of which he has been known: in a sequential manner that disregards the arrangement of the Civil Code which focuses more on the subject.
This book starts off with a definition of Succession in order to set the table. As part of this text’s intention to disregard the arrangement of the Civil Code and focus on the subject (as mentioned above), the individual who shall succeed shall be discussed thereafter consisting of the following topics: 1) the capacity to succeed by will or intestacy; 2) relationship; and 3) Compulsory heirs.

Law on Corporate Securities
This humble work has a two-fold purpose: the first one is a bit of nostalgia for both of us, when we used to work with the Securities and Exchange Commission, which laid the basis of our understanding and knowledge on Corporation and Securities Law. We were blessed and benefited by our stints with the SEC that this is a way to express our gratitude and to translate our experience into this book on corporate securities.
The second purpose, on the other hand, is the ultimate reason on writing this book on Corporate Securities. The student of law may be quite intimidated by the concept of Securities Regulation, considering that the concepts involved here are technical and statistical (particularly actuarial) in nature. Likewise, the layman is exposed in the trading of securities, and most of the time, is unwary of the risks and legalities in their investments in which their purpose is to gain profits may be jeopardized by their lack of legal knowledge before dealing with securities transactions.

Constitutional Law: The State and Branches of Government
This timely revision includes the latest doctrine and jurisprudence in this particular work on the State and Branches of Government not encompassed in the first edition. These recent decisions touched upon the delegation of emergency powers, dual citizenship, immunity from suits in relation to international organizations, limitations imposed upon congressional investigations, electoral qualifications, and presidential amnesties, among others. The author also included a new chapter on National Economy and Patrimony, which deserves a separate and distinct discussion of its own.

IUS GENTIUM: Notes in Public International Law
Increasing relations between States — whether military alliances, economic partnerships and other links — have made rules of a transnational, international character indispensable. The rise of legal regimes — the World Trade Organization, the community law of the European Union, the whole regime of international criminal law — are three of many examples. There is also no doubt that the institutions of international law have become prominent. In the Philippines, the investigation of former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte by the International Criminal Court in connection with the ruthless “war on drugs” during his administration has brought the Court to the attention of many Filipinos. The Arbitral Award that gave the Philippines a resounding victory of the Peoples Republic of China have also initiated many Filipinos to the workings of dispute resolution under the Convention on the Law of the Sea. The laudable decision of Finland and Sweden to join the North Atlantic Treaty Organization despite Russia’s saber-rattling, and the willingness of the European Union to consider the membership of Georgia highlight the prominence of new forms of international legal personality.

Cross-Examination Techniques: A Practical Guide to Litigation
This book explores the art of cross-examination in Philippine courtrooms—its tools, tactics, and techniques. It draws a vivid comparison between the best practices of Philippine and American trial lawyers, examining what truly works and what falls short.
To uncover these lessons, an empirical method was used. Surveys, interviews, and real-world experiences shaped the findings—revealing how Filipino litigators set their goals, prepare their cross, and choose the techniques that land with impact. By mapping the patterns and themes in these practices, and comparing them to time-tested American strategies, this work bridges a long-standing gap in Philippine legal literature. More than just theory, this is a practical handbook—one the Philippines has long needed, but until now, did not have. It distills the real-world wisdom of trial lawyers, prosecutors, public attorneys, and judges across the country.

A Handbook on the Fundamentals of Eminent Domain
The decision to write a book on eminent domain is prompted by the author’s experience in handling expropriation cases as a practitioner, and later, as a judge. The author hopes to bring common practices in expropriation closer to the Rules and/or jurisprudence. He notes, for instance, that under Rule 67 of the Rules of Court, pre-trial conference, an otherwise mandatory fixture in the pursuit of ordinary civil (and even criminal) actions, has no place in the procedure to be followed in expropriation cases.

Your Taxmate Says: Lawyer’s Version
This book is a product of a decade of experiencing, learning, practicing, and teaching Taxation. Honed by my tax experience in an accounting firm and a law firm, and further solidified at my current tax work with the Court of Tax Appeals, this book is an ever-evolving work of art, a culmination of how my mind works in trying to explain the constructive glory and the destructive fury of taxation. This is patterned after my handwritten teaching notes as early as 2016, the Powerpoint slides that I have continually been editing since 2020 when the teaching landscape has been forced to adapt to the pandemic, incorporating the test banks I have originally created ever since I started teaching.

Provisional Remedies Special Civil Actions and Other Writs
This book, titled “Provisional Remedies, Special Civil Actions, and Other Writs”, continues to use the question-and-answer format adopted in the 2007 and 2019 editions.
