Description
Since its first edition in 1998, this book has been updated every four years: in 2002, 2006, and 2010. This quadrennial cycle was broken in 2014, when, owing to heavy teaching loads which the author imprudently took on, a fifth edition failed to appear.
A subsequent judicious reduction of classroom hours, accompanied by a certain obstinacy of spirit, has made it possible for this edition to see the light of day — two years belated in partu, but hopefully (pardon the disjunct) none the worse for its extended gestation.
