This book, Conceptual Approach to Criminal Procedure, is the third of the series of Remedial Law books that the author has written. The first two are the Conceptual Approach to Special Proceedings (2nd ed. 2021) and the Conceptual Approach to Civil Procedure (1st ed. 2020).
Thus, the discussion on this book starts with the chapter on the Basic Concepts and Jurisdiction. It is afterwards followed by the discussion in the successive chapters on Katarungang Pambarangay Law, Preliminary Investigation, Arrest, Filing of the Information or Complaint, Motion to Quash, Arraignment and Pre-Trial, Trial, Judgment, and Post-Judgment Remedies. The author discusses the rights of the accused as provided in Rule 115 not as a separate chapter but as part of the applicable chapter of the book for the readers to appreciate more its applicability and importance in every stage of criminal proceedings.
